Vanguard, a product of Current TV, offers some of the most fascinating and riveting documentaries on the untold stories around the world. From oxycontin addiction to the dangers of lobster diving to the Somalian pirates, Vanguard covers anything and everything you've never seen before. I have watched every film and can't wait for the upcoming season. Season 4 just started today with a film titled "Missionaries of Hate"; Hulu has all previous episodes. I highly recommend checking out this series.
Just released last week was a special report on the two American journalists that were captured in North Korea in early 2009. I did not realize it at the time but these were reporters from Vanguard, my favorite documentarians. With the recent news on the heightening tensions between North and South Korea, this film is well worth watching to understand the type of country North Korea has become during the last 50 years of isolation and authoritarian communism.
